Carrickfergus Castle in Northern Ireland

After a year long siege by the armies of Robert and Edward Bruce (King of Ireland) the Castle fell in1350. The Castle was soon taken back by the English and remained in their hands except for a short period in 1760 when the French successfully occupied the fort.
